On that trojan war au thing you're writing. 1. What are the tags for it, cause I'm super interested! And would love to read what you have so far! 2. "And Odysseus is a much grimmer darker man due to his home being one of the places that were first swallowed up by Erebus" - I wanna know more about this. Please tell me more.
Oh , wow, I'm so flattered! I'm very happy it sounds appealing to you <33 This work is a huge passion project of mine so I'm always glad to talk more and more about it, especially since there are many aspects occurring in the background (such as the alternate fates of the main players of the Trojan Conflict) which I cannot properly cover or even explain within the events of the novel itself.
That said: 1) If you mean tags as in ao3 - unfortunately, this work isn't on ao3 my friend :( As I said above, these are elements and concepts in the greek mythology based-fantasy novel I'm currently writing (the concept of which I outlined here in the introductory post of my novel concept!) As for wanting to read whatever writing I currently have available: I currently have three fics available on ao3 that are written in my Pursuing Daybreak verse!
The Prince and Princess series deal with a young Apollo and Artemis and the many consequences they face after Apollo has slain Python. The two works uploaded right now are Exeunt Phoebus Apollo which covers the murder trial of Python and Manent Apanchomene Artemis which covers the intense feelings of helplessness and alienation Artemis experiences after Apollo returns from his banishment and is completely changed. Both of these have themes of family, grief and relationship exploration at their heart.
The third bit of writing I have up is quite outdated but does cover the immediate aftermath of Hyacinthus' death. It's called A Petal Falleth and features Apollo making one of those Big Silly Decisions that have completely unintended but extremely important consequences: namely, instead of the larkspurs being made of Hyacinthus' spilt blood, Apollo anchors the boy's soul to the flowers so Thanatos wouldn't take him. Like the Dawn is also set in this world but because it is nsfw in nature, I wouldn't recommend it as easily as the other three bits of writing. If you don't mind the whole naked men thing though, I'd definitely suggest reading Like the Dawn for a better idea of what my current writing is like (along with eventually getting to see characters like Hector, Andromache and Cassandra/Helenus) Like the Dawn's themes are also different to the other three works with it focusing more on the power dynamics of a god/mortal relationship, exploring masculinity and masculine sexuality and self discovery.
The running theme here, of course, is that all of these bits of writing are centered on Apollo/Artemis or Hyacinth because my novel itself is centered around them. There are, of course, other important characters and figures like Eros, Psyche, Penthesilea and Iaso (one of Asclepius' daughters) but while there is the definite presence of characters from the Trojan War they most certainly aren't at the center of the novel (and the ones that are aren't the Greeks but rather the Trojans i.e Hector, Alexander, Andromache, Cassandra, Helenus, Aeneas, so on and so forth.)
2) The basis of the apocalypse in my work is cosmological! Due to Apollo's err-- untimely departure, there's no longer anyone maintaining the axis of the heavens or the navel of the earth. Because of this, Erebus - whose darkness is usually kept firmly in the spaces between the realms - begins to spill out into both the heavens and the earth. The beasts of Erebus (referring primarily to the Seven Curses - Old Age, Misery, Deceit, Violence etc etc) consume, torment and destroy whatever is inside of Erebus' darkness and Ithaca, as one of the islands on the far edge of the world, was one of the very first places that were devoured in this manner. Odysseus was visiting the Argives at the time for a festival and had left the pregnant Penelope at home since he didn't want her to suffer through the voyage in discomfort. He only finds out about the destruction of Ithaca after it had already been consumed when Athena personally interrupts a feast to warn both him and Diomedes. Needless to say, Odysseus, like everyone else, assumes that everyone on Ithaca has died and thusly is a very, very different man in terms of humour and comport. A part of him still stubbornly clings to the belief that Penelope managed to escape - that she was smart and resourceful enough to see the end approaching and do her best to escape - but that doesn't stop him from being dour for the majority of the time. Diomedes does his best to keep his spirits up in the meantime. Without him around, Odysseus is something of a black hole when it comes to the oppressiveness of his discontent though he does manage to lighten up when in the company of Helen, Clytemnestra and even Menelaus on occasion.
#ginger answers asks#ginger chats about greek myths#Diomedes did a lot to coax Odysseus out of his initial shock when Athena delivered the news#Pretty much the only thing that stuck was Ody getting into the habit of whittling wooden horses and ships#He used to speak to Penelope's stomach and tell a bunch of stories about his youth and adventures#Now he speaks to himself while he's whittling because it makes him feel like he's still speaking to Telemachus#Ody doesn't grieve Penelope at all btw He refuses to behave like she's dead until the gods personally tell him or he sees a body#DIomedes very much thinks it's unhealthy and is very worried for his bestie but he's very deliberately left that topic for Helen#and Clytemnestra to deal with. Like he punches things he can't really do that for Ody's mental health alas#pursuing daybreak posting#The Seven Curses all have names btw#And Erebus isn't really doing anything malevolently either#The gods carved the world sky and ocean out of the darkness - it's their responsibility to maintain it#Of course Nyx and Himera originally held the job of keeping Erebus' darkness at bay#But that power is one that's been broken up and passed down between the generations to prevent precisely this event from happening#Nyx's Night and Himera's Day was first given to Ouranos so he could govern the boundary between the world and the darkness without fail#Ouranos' daughters received Night - specifically Theia and Phoebe#and his sons received Day - namely Hyperion and Coeus#Apollo - ever the overachiever however - ends up being overwhelmingly endowed with these attributes and then some considering#he also gets Delphi - the center of the earth - when he slays Python#So when he errr left to get some milk so to speak - the entire order of things went with him#The remaining balance-keepers are Hecate and Artemis and both of them are Night which is too close to Erebus anyway#So y'know things aren't good like at all LMFAO#Anyway I talked a lot - thank you very much again for asking!! Delphi has a weird dream/not dream/vision, as provided by the Svadmin team, of following the scent of blood to a weird ol tree where they see it covered in blood and someone is talking to them.

How they are Handling your Disappearance. Hello all, get ready for some more Nightbringer Angst! This is a little drabble (bullet point style) of how I think the "Present Day Demon Brothers" are handling your sudden disappearance. Honestly I hate thinking too deeply about NB, it brings me to tears. I can't even imagine the pain and anxiety the brothers are feeling without knowing where their beloved human went and why. Anyways, grab your tissues and I hope you enjoy! Feedback and reblogs are super appreciated!

They’ll always remember the exact day and time you disappeared. It was their day off from RAD, and you had been in the Devildom since Solomon had brought you by for some training sessions. You practically begged the sorcerer to allow you to visit the House of Lamentation, and Solomon happily obliged. You really didn't have to convince him too much, though. The brothers were so happy and surprised to see you again so soon, and they had planned on taking you out for dinner that evening. Except you never showed. They spent hours searching for you. Those hours easily turned into days. Then the days turned into weeks. There was no trace of you left behind. Where did you go?
💙Lucifer💙
He’s terrified. He doesn’t know why or how you disappeared, but he feels responsible.
He spends every waking moment looking for signs of you. Trying to piece together what or who took you from him.
Knows he has to be strong for the rest of their brothers.
But when he can no longer feel your bond with you through the pact, he feels the unbearable weight of despair crack through his usual stoic demeanor.
He cries. He hasn’t cried like this since their fall.
Lucifer hardly sleeps. His brothers notice the bags under his eyes. How he no longer cares what he looks like in front of them.
He becomes distant again, shutting himself in his room or study.
If you thought his hatred for Solomon was strong before, it’s infinitely worse now.
He doesn’t know who else to blame, so the silver haired sorcerer becomes his reasoning for your disappearance.
The eldest demon has his hands around Solomon’s throat, Mammon and Beel having to pull him off.
“Lucifer are ya nuts?! We gotta have him alive if we have any hope in finding MC!” Mammon had scolded him as he became limp in Beel’s strong grip.
Solomon promised he’d bring you back.
He better not dare to show his face back here until you are with him, safe and sound.
💛Mammon💛
The normally confident and self assured demon becomes silent. Angry. Afraid.
Aside from their initial searching for you, he doesn’t leave your room.
He can’t feel your pact with him anymore, and it sends him spiraling.
He buries himself into your pillows, inhaling your lingering scent.
It’s faint, but he takes what he can get
His eyes are puffy and red from crying, and he can’t stand sitting around doing nothing.
He goes out every night, flying over the Devildom, searching.
When he can’t, Mammon sends his familiars out searching for you too, exploring the areas that he can’t reach.
The ravens are good at finding things, and if they can’t find you, then he’s screwed.
Each time they come back with nothing.
Occasionally, they bring him Grimm they’ve found or a valuable piece of treasure.
But you’re the only treasure he gives a shit about right now.
When he goes to retreat back to his room, he runs into Lucifer.
He looks terrible.
But Mammon can’t blame him. He probably noticed his swollen face and unwashed hair, too.
He sends you texts every day. Even if you don’t get them.
Normally he’d be grossed out by his own sappiness, but he doesn’t care.
He needs you.
MC, wherever you are, just know I love you. So goddamn much. Please come back.
I miss you.
I hope you’re thinking of me, too.
🧡Leviathan🧡
Leviathan always told you he wouldn’t know what he’d do without you.
But he really didn’t want to really experience what life would be without you!
Is this some cruel joke?!
It’s got to be! One of his alternate universe video games went wrong again right?
Except it isn’t. You’re actually gone, and he actually has no idea what to do with himself.
He cries. Alot.
To mask his tears from his brothers, he spends a lot of time in his fish tank with Henry 2.0.
Don’t get him wrong, he loves Henry, but he longs for you. His soulmate.
He sends Lotan to search the Devildom seas, far and wide. He had asked him to listen for any information of sightings of you.
But so far, there’s been nothing. No word. No trace of you.
He lays curled up in his bathtub, a laptop balanced on his lap as he watches anime to try and distract himself from you.
But oh no, is this your favorite episode?! He turns it off, shoving the laptop away and fresh tears falling down his cheeks.
I’m so useless, he thinks. The Grand Admiral of Hell’s Navy, and I can’t even find a human!
Levi’s self depreciative behavior gets worse.
He blames himself for not being with you when you disappeared.
He begins picking at his skin and nails, an old, nervous habit resurfacing from back when he first fell into the Devildom.
His brothers do what they can to reassure him, but it’s no use.
He needs you. Please come back home soon, MC.
💚Satan💚
Satan’s temper tantrums are back.
He didn’t ever think he’d revert back to this, but now that you’re gone….
Accidentally lost his temper and in a wrath filled frenzy blew through the wall in the living room. Lucifer threatened to tie him up.
Normally the prideful demon would have just done it, but something about his older brother was different nowadays.
He feels it too, he thought. The pacts are gone.
Spends sleepless nights in the library reading any book he can find about curses.
Did you become invisible? He had no other explanation.
Was it the work of some demon on the street who decided they didn’t like you that day?
He’s frustrated because he feels like he doesn’t know anything.
He knows nothing of your sudden disappearance
Like Mammon, he sends his cats out looking for you. Any sign of you.
But they also bring back nothing but a dead mouse here and there.
Normally he’d be delighted by their gift to him, but it’s lost its appeal.
When he’s worried about you, nothing else matters.
Lucifer did allow him to keep a cat in the house though.
Also uses his personal connections from all three realms to look for you.
But it’s no use.
When he’s not in the library, he’s shut away in his room.
His brothers think for a moment that he’s disappeared as well, but they find him asleep on his bed, his cheeks tear stained and a book on his chest.
Please come home, MC. I need you.
💖Asmodeus💖
Asmo’s love for you rivals the love he feels for himself.
Now that you are gone, he feels he has no love left to give for anyone.
He feels empty.
The Avatar of Lust takes pride in his appearance, always making sure he’s presentable and looking his best.
But not knowing where you are and if you are safe or not is driving him mad.
His brothers haven’t seen him this way in a long time.
Asmo’s eyes are puffy and red, his cheeks and nose raw and swollen from the endless tears.
He spends hours in the bath, thinking of anything he may have said or done to cause you to leave him like this.
He takes up the habit of sleeping a lot. He wasn’t sure how Belphie could do it all the time. But now he understands.
Asmo can also throw a good temper tantrum.
The day he realized he could no longer feel your pact with him sent him over the edge.
But afterwards he felt embarrassed, even though his brothers will never blame him for expressing his feelings for you.
When Solomon leaves to go find you, he feels hopeful, putting all the trust he has in your master to find you.
But it also hurts. He hasn’t left Solomon’s side since your disappearance, taking comfort in the bond he still has with him.
He’ll never take it for granted again.
MC, I can’t take this! If you can hear me, please come home, my lost little lamb… I love you…
❤️Beelzebub❤️
Beel is quiet.
He’s another one that feels responsible for your disappearance.
His heart is aching, and he doesn’t know what to do with himself.
Thankfully, he has his twin by his side to reassure him. But it’s not enough.
He needs to know where you’ve gone.
He needs to save you.
Beel’s appetite is all over the place. One minute, he can’t stop eating and the next, he’s not hungry at all.
His brothers got really concerned when he didn’t eat for 2 whole days.
The only hunger he feels is the need to figure out where you went.
Not only is he worried about you, he’s worried for his brothers.
He knows they are suffering too, especially with the noticeable absence of your pact.
Beel has always been protective of them, after all.
He stops going to the gym. He doesn’t feel like it.
Instead, he cuddles up in bed with Belphie, holding him close with tears silently rolling down his cheeks.
Beel you’re squeezing too hard, he hears his twin mumble. But he doesn’t care.
He’s almost lost his brother before, and now your disappearance has him terrified.
Please, don’t take anyone else away from me.
I love you, MC, please wherever you are, stay safe…
💜Belphegor💜
Belphie’s temper is a short fuse. More than usual, anyways.
He doesn’t want to talk to anyone but Beel.
He tries to retreat to the attic to get some peace and quiet from his brothers losing their collective shit.
But he ends up drowning in a wave of memories as soon as he walks through the door.
He collapses on the bed and hugs his cow pillow to his body as he sobs, his body curling in on itself.
Dammit MC, look at what you do to me…you need to come home…
When he isn’t sleeping, he helps soothe the rest of his brothers to sleep. He sees their dreams, knows the thoughts that are keeping them awake.
He wants to help, but figures this could be the only way he knows how.
He doesn’t feel your presence at all, though.
That must mean you aren’t anywhere nearby, or even in the same Realm. He knows your pact with him is gone.
He felt it break the day you disappeared.
But sometimes he feels a flutter of something in the place where the mark used to be.
He can’t explain why.
Belphie often finds himself slipping into bed with his twin at night.
They were inseparable before, but even more so now that you aren’t around.
I can’t lose him too, I have to stay by his side, he thinks. He snuggles into Beel’s chest as his brother holds him close, afraid he might disappear too at any second.
He misses the days when you were nestled comfortably right between the two of them.
You need to come back MC, you’re our missing piece.

A redraw of the timeline of Apollo's life I made half a year ago! Sadly for some reason CSP decided to completely delete poor Post-First Punishment Apollo (the fifth one), but luckily I took a picture of it before hand so y'all can see it, even if it's lower quality ;-;. If you want the story behind these designs I dumped like 2000 words about it in my og post, which you can see here!
Some quick addendums I forgot to put in last time + fun design details:
Apollo replaces Helios as the god of the sun after the Trojan War, around 900 B.C.E-ish.
Baby Apollo has horns now! This is a trait he inherited from his titan side and then quickly lost during his battle with Python. It's a nod to his first domain being shepherding as well.
Just to clarify, post-first punishment Apollo goes before post-Daphne Apollo, it's just I couldn't place them in the right order bc csp sucks
The symbol I used on Main Apollo's fabric is called a delphic epsilon! It was used as a symbol for Apollo's temple at Delphi in Ancient Greece and represented a worshiper's initiation into light.
The blue-ish silver ribbon Fall of Greece Apollo has belonged to Artemis. As I stated in my first post, Apollo spends a large amount of time away from Olympus between the fall of greece and his time in Rome, so he kept the ribbon to have something of his sister's in the meantime.
Also for Fall of Greece Apollo, his cloak is fading for two reasons. One, he's spending a lot more time performing his duties as the god of burials, making his role as one of the first bridges between the living and dead much more prominent. The underworld is pulling at him just as much as it is pulling at the casulties of Greece. Two, Apollo is not spending time on Olympus, nor is he actively speaking with any of his worshipers. This is causing belief in him to diminish, so this is the closest he has ever gotten to fading. I swear I will write a whole thing about the period at some point I have so many ideas.
The sheep 2nd punishment Apollo has is a Chios sheep! They are actually native to Greece, and also adorable I love them.
I think that's all for now, I hope you guys like the art!!!

What do you think about the new Oracle lore? How she was a Henchmaniac, left the group and (apparently?) helps save the others from erasure after Bill is gone. Do you plan to incorporate that into the fic?
I'm not hyped about it. When everyone knows everyone in a story, it makes the world feel smaller; tying the Oracle into the Henchmaniacs shrunk what should be a very expansive world.
Plus, we know so little about her that "she's the kind of person who'd want to join the Henchmaniacs" and "she's a portal-designing super genius" just feels jarringly at odds with the clairvoyant Oracle-of-Delphi mountaintop-hermit vibe she's had up til now, and we didn't get enough material to synthesize these opposing vibes into a cohesive whole. Though I suppose it helps explain her tendency toward wild drunken parties.
(And this isn't a critique, but if she's the one who initially designed Bill's interdimensional portal blueprints, then it's very funny that after she learned about Ford's epic quest she didn't go "bee tee dubs, sorry about designing the portal currently menacing your universe lmao." Just kept herself OUT of that mess. Let him keep blaming Bill, she's totally got no personal involvement in this, nope.)
That said, the fact that I'm not a fan doesn't mean I'm not gonna make it work in the fic.
A big chunk of my Henchmaniac plans is dependent upon them still being in the Nightmare Realm but also a big chunk of my Henchmaniac plans is dependent upon them WANTING to escape the Nightmare Realm. I can rewrite portions of my existing scenes so that instead of going "it sucks that this place is falling apart, wanna find another universe to move to?" they go "it sucks that this place is falling apart, wanna check out that universe Jessie recommended?" I hadn't had plans to include the Oracle in the fic, but bringing her in as a figure to be distrusted by the Henchmaniacs who aren't eager to leave might add some tension.

The biggest concern of all Perachel shippers and the most used argument used by anti Perachel shippers is that Rachel is an oracle and she took a vow of celibacy so no dating. That's not exactly how it works.
The reason they are made to make such a vow is to put serving their God Apollo first and foremost.
May Castellan had already had a child when she went to bond with the Oracle, and her not being celibate has nothing to do with that as we know .
Now, even in Ancient Greece, older women have been vessels for Oracles. They just had to put their family aside.
So, in conclusion, the vow of celibacy isn't an obligate condition.
Now for a bit of an history lesson The Oracle of Delphi is extremely unique as she has existed long before the Gods did as a spirit in Lake of Delphi and was often initially referred to as the Oracle of Gaia.
The titaness Phoebe used the powers given by the lake to divine futures. That was how Rhea knew where to hide and how to trick Kronos as she had gone to Phoebe for advice.
Now, for an even more interesting piece of fact after the Gods took control, the Lake of Delphi remained for millenias under the jurisdiction of Poseidon himself.
Priestesses used to come there to seek the power to be able to divine the futures. Only when it was attacked by Python himself and then saved by Apollo who killed the Python did the Spirit of Delphi choose to host itself in Apollos Priestesses thus abandoning the Lake.
The spirit of Delphi has no clear allegiances being able to change who she serves, and we know the Oracle spirit has some fondness for Percy given his own exceptionally prophetic dreams which is a power akin to an Oracle.
This means Rachel can probably choose to serve another God, maybe Poseidon himself, again, so he would revoke the no dating condition.
Or or this is my absolute favorite headcanon about Perachel, that given how many times Percy has managed to save her when Percy eventually ascends to Godhood Rachel and the Oracle spirit, swear fealty to him.
Take that Percabeth shippers. Your only viable argument against Perachel is no longer an argument.

A study published in the journal Communications Medicine reports the prevalence and consequences of post-coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) symptoms in children and young individuals up to 24 months post-infection.
Background A significant proportion of COVID-19 patients consistently experience a range of health complications even after months or years of the initial infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). This condition is medically termed as long-COVID.
The Long COVID in Children and Young People (CLoCk) study has been designed to explore long-COVID symptoms in children and adolescents aged under 18 years. The study has reported findings on long-COVID in 20,202 children and adolescents living in England up to 12 months after their initial SARS-CoV-2 infection.
In the current study, scientists have analyzed the CLoCk study data to report long-COVID symptoms and their consequences in children and adolescents for up to 24 months post-SARS-CoV-2 infection. This extended follow-up is crucial for understanding the persistence of symptoms over time and their potential impact on quality of life.
Study Design The study included a total of 12,632 children and adolescents from the CLoCk study who were 11 to 17 years old at the time of their initial SARS-CoV-2 testing (between September 2020 and March 2021).
The participants were categorized into four groups according to their infection status over the period of 24 months. The first group included participants who never tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. The second group included those who were initially test-negative but subsequently tested positive. The third group included those who were initially test-positive but did not have reinfection later on. The fourth group included those who were initially test-positive and also developed reinfection later on.
Participants reported long-COVID symptoms and their consequences, which were examined at 3, 6, 12, and 24 months after the initial SARS-CoV-2 infection. To operationalize long-COVID in children, the study used the Delphi research definition, focusing on persistent symptoms and associated difficulties in daily functioning.
Important Observations All study participants reported experiencing some symptoms 24 months after their initial infection. The most frequently reported symptoms were tiredness, trouble sleeping, shortness of breath, and headaches.
A variation in symptom prevalence was observed between the study groups. While participants who never tested positive exhibited the lowest prevalence of symptoms, the highest prevalence was observed among participants who initially tested positive and later developed reinfection.
The study groups also observed a variation in the total number of reported symptoms. While 35% of participants who initially tested positive and subsequently developed reinfection reported no symptoms, 46% of participants who never tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 reported the same experience. However, even among the never-positive group, 14% experienced five or more symptoms, highlighting the non-specific nature of many symptoms reported.
Among participants who reported experiencing more than five symptoms, about 14% were from the never-positive group, and 21% were from the initial test-positive and subsequent reinfection group.
Despite significant variation in symptoms, only a slight variation in self-rated health, symptom severity, and symptom impact was observed between the study groups at a 24-month timepoint. This finding raises questions about whether self-perceived health metrics can fully capture the burden of long-COVID in children.
Considering the demographic characteristics of participants, the study found that long-COVID is more common among older participants, female participants, as well as socioeconomically deprived participants.
Participants who fulfilled the long-COVID Delphi research definition exhibited more difficulties, worse quality of life, and more tiredness than those who did not meet the long-COVID Delphi research definition.
Only 7.2% of the participants fulfilled the long-COVID Delphi research definition at 3-, 6-, 12-, and 24-month time points. These participants reported an average of five symptoms at 3 months, five at 6 months, six at 12 months, and five at 24 months post-infection. This consistent subgroup reflects a more severe and persistent burden of symptoms, emphasizing the need for targeted support.
Considering vaccination status, the study found no apparent trend in the number of reported symptoms, health status, quality of life, and symptom impact or severity between vaccinated and unvaccinated participants at 24 months.
Study Significance The study finds that a considerable proportion of children and adolescents (aged 11 to 17) consistently experience, on average, five symptoms over the period of 24 months post-SARS-CoV-2 infection, irrespective of their infection status during this period.
While the most commonly reported symptoms are tiredness, trouble sleeping, shortness of breath, and headaches, the participants less frequently report abdominal pain, concentration difficulties, and muscle pain. Although reported by a minority, these less frequent symptoms can still significantly affect daily activities and warrant further attention.
The study used the long-COVID Delphi research definition to analyze symptoms, which, in contrast to the World Health Organization (WHO) definition, does not require symptoms to have arisen within the first three months of infection. It is the only definition currently being used for children and adolescents and is considered to be more powerful in capturing long-COVID symptoms, particularly for those who remained asymptomatic or unaware of having an infection during the acute SARS-CoV-2 infection phase.
Crucially, the study emphasizes that many of the reported symptoms are common in adolescents irrespective of their SARS-CoV-2 infection status, suggesting a potential overlap between long-COVID and general adolescent health issues.
Notably, the study could not find any significant variation in self-rated health, symptom severity, or symptom impact among children and adolescents with varying infection and vaccination status. Furthermore, the symptoms reported by participants are non-specific and often commonly reported in adolescents, even before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Considering the findings, scientists highlight the need for further studies to understand the pathophysiology, develop diagnostic tests, and identify effective interventions for long-COVID management in children and adolescents. In particular, longitudinal studies are essential to clarify the natural history of symptoms and their impact over time.

Non-Consecutive Thoughts on the Percy Jackson Show #1
Imma be real... I'm definitely too lazy to do that episode by episode breakdown of Season one (of the pjo show), that I've kept bringing up since the start of this blog 💀
So I think I'll just do a stream of consciousness thing, where I just bring up my critiques/improvements as they come to me.
To start, why didn't they include Grover's Pan-flute?
Generally, I know they took out certain minuscule details that didn't serve the greater plot (like eye color, delphi strawberries, etc.), and for the better in some instances; but Grover's pan-flute is what he uses to showcase his (initially weak) abilities with Nature Magic.
Grover's use of Nature magic is pretty pivotal in the final battle of Manhattan. So, I just can't understand the logic for not establishing it in the first season..

How do you imagine Bellatrix reacted to finding out she was pregnant with Delphini? How do you think she told The Dark Lord and how do you think she told Rodolphus (and how did the two men handle the news, assuming Delphini was entirely unplanned?)
I would love to know your thoughts!
I have thought about this a lot and my opinion has shifted over time, but what's most likely is that Bellatrix didn't like the idea at all in the beginning. I think she hated motherhood. She is just not the sort of woman who's very motherly and I imagine she dreaded pregnancy and what it does to a woman's body. I'm fairly certain she would have terminated the pregnancy had Rodolphus been the father and in my headcanon she has terminated several pregnancies before. Voldemort being the father was the only reason she decided to keep Delphi and initially only because being the mother of his child would bring her closer to him, even make her his family. I imagine Bella only grew to accept the idea of motherhood during her pregnancy because of Voldemort's greater attentiveness but she didn't connect with Delphi until after she was born because she was so miserable while pregnant. It just wasn't her.
As for how Voldemort reacted, conflicted, to say the least. On one hand, he is obviously not father material and dislikes children; on the other hand, the last thing he would want to do is abandon his child and its mother, which is something he associates with his father whom he loathed. He was not pleased that Bella 'allowed herself' to get pregnant but when she begged to let Delphi live, he had to relent after a few days of contemplation. Like Bella, I think, he too grew to accept the idea gradually, as the amalgamation of Black and Slytherin blood was sure to produce a brilliant child, though I also think Voldemort had an inferiority complex about passing on his Muggle blood which added to the conflict inside him.
I reckon Bellatrix told Rodolphus after Voldemort allowed her to keep the child. This is how I see his reaction: pleased because he thinks she's his → shocked and angry when he learns she isn't → devastated afterwards → he finally accepts defeat because what else can he do? I think he grew to care for her after she was born, like his own, and liked to pretend she was his.
The pregnancy was most likely accidental, though I have also toyed with the idea of Bellatrix deliberately skipping contraceptives out of desperation after she fell out of favour with Voldemort but I am not sure how I feel about this, even though it seems to fit thematically. I need to think about it more before coming to a conclusion. For now, accidental is most likely.

any souce for the pythia being over fifty? i saw that websites claim that but they dont link to any initial source. p.s. i know late trad. pythias were older women, its the precise age that got me curios
Here's a link from Britannica that mentions her age.
I wrote an essay all about the Pythia a few years back for my Greek Religion class in college and through my research I learned there was a myth where the first Pythias were young virgins who kept getting kidnapped and SA'd so they made a rule in the temple of Delphi where only women over the age of 50 could be the Pythia in order to dissuade people from kidnapping her because to the ancient Greeks they were seen as undesirable (Aristophanes mentions this POV in Lysastrata: the women go on a sex strike and lock themselves away from the men and the men only have access to elderly women whom they didn't want).
I will look into my books to give you sources I used for my own essay but I try to stick to free sites online whenever I give sources on Tumblr in order to make the information both free and easy to access because the very frustrating truth is that most scholars keep credible information behind a paywall or you need to buy a book in order to access that information.
It's such BS how this information is only really accessible to people who have the economic means to pay for it but unfortunately Greco-Roman studies are jealously guarded by the "elite" who try to keep everyone else out of it by making it hard to access, especially for free and especially online.

HELL HATH, NO FURY LIKE A FANDOM SCORNED (borrowed from the SPN fandom). I am not one who usually speaks up. But the things that are currently going down in the 911 fandom initiated from a particular corner of it with bashing actors and even harassing their family members on IG, as well as fellow fans, are disgusting. I had my share in other fandoms and got burned. I thought the 911 fandom was different. Little did I know.
The fandom has different levels of canonicity, from canon to fanon. The fandom is large enough to accommodate all of us. Can we please enjoy the present moment instead of playing the Oracle of Delphi? Speculations, discussions, and criticism (if constructive) are okay. But not going on a rampage based on hearsay, rumors, or a hunch.
The actors admit they are often unaware of what's coming next, as they receive their scripts on short notice. Longtime fans of the show know that anything is possible. Every fandom has its tin hats and conspiracy theorists, some of whom can be vocal and unpleasant.
However, the whole point of being in a fandom is to have fun. The playground is big enough for all of us, and plenty of talented, creative minds are contributing to the community.
Personally, I take the show as it comes. I'm used to not just having a favorite ship but an entire armada 😎 So I wouldn't go as far as declaring something "dead in the water" ( because I saw that concerning #Buddie) based solely on interviews. No offense here.
We should sit back and let the story unfold, treating it like a bottle of wine. You open it and then let it breathe. You don't immediately pour the liquid into the glass and drink it. Tim managed to surprise us by the end of the 100th episode. Who knows what else he has in store.
We are open to it. Of course, we sometimes disagree with the plot. But we don't throw a tantrum. There's already enough drama in this world. No need to add to it with "fandom wars" that go nowhere but hurt many people in the wake.
If you made it here, thanks for taking the time to read. You get an extra batch of brownie points...

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love! ❤️
Oh, my friend, this came at such a perfect time, I'm having this wave of self-doubt about my fics 😭.
So, I actually only have four WIPs on AO3 (believe me, I’m trying so hard not to post my Jilypad fic, but I’ve decided I’ll only post it after finishing one of my current WIPs).
Here are my babies:
Disrupted Allegiances (The Black Sisters, M rated)
Black family-centric (I’m updating a new chapter this week, btw!). It tells the story of the Black Sisters during the First and Second Wizarding Wars. Andromeda's POV covers the period before the first war (the rise of Voldemort, her falling in love with Ted, and her running away from home). Then we move on to Bellatrix’s POV (as the unhinged General of the Dark Lord during the first war). Bella has one more chapter left, which will come after the Interlude (this next chapter, which will cover the Black family’s downfall in the '80s). Narcissa’s POV will be the last, following the second wizarding war and the post-war period (and yes, Delphi will appear!). It’s canon-compliant up to The Cursed Child because I’ve decided Delphi deserves a better ending than what she got.
Turbulence (Marlene/Dorcas, E rated)
It’s crazy how F/F fics are so overlooked. I started writing this because I wanted to read Dorlene, but all I could find were fics where they were just side characters in M/M stories, and honestly, that pissed me off. So, I started writing this fic focused on them. Turbulence is canon-compliant (yes, the ending is sad, but the journey is worth it… I guess), and focus on the development of Marlene and Dorcas’ romance during the war.
Dissonance (Sirius/James, E rated)
LONG (extremely long! 12 chapters in and over 130k words) PRONGSFOOT FIC!! Dissonance follows James and Sirius from the moment they first met through their journey to becoming friends and eventually falling in love at Hogwarts. It's canon divergence, and we'll have something (which I can’t tell yet 🤐) that will happen that will cause them to fight (because I'm chaotic and love drama). This will lead to the arc where they become enemies (lots of sexual tension, friends). And the ending will be happy (I’ve actually already written the final scene), but there’s a lot of angst along the way. The story goes up until 1991 and will have between 25–35 chapters.
Fetters of the Damned (Harry/Voldemort, E rated)
This is my darkest fic (and also my most popular). It’s a dead dove because it portrays a very unequal and unhealthy relationship, so I strongly encourage readers to check the tags.
Fetters diverges from canon during the Triwizard Tournament when Voldemort lets Harry escape the graveyard and begins planning his complete domination of the wizarding world. His initial goal is to kill Harry, but when he discovers Harry is a Horcrux, his plans shift, and he decides he will have Harry at any cost. Voldemort infiltrates Hogwarts as the new DADA teacher and makes Harry’s life a living hell (who says romance is dead? lol). It’s a dark canon-divergent story that will have between 25–30 chapters, and, well, the ending fits the tone of the story (I’ve already written the final scene for this fic too).
And although it hasn’t been posted yet, my next story will be a Jilypad fic because I love themm. Such an underrated ship. Anyway, it’s Jilypad and will feature POVs from all three of them (James, Lily, and Sirius). It’s a canon-divergent story where I’ll give them all a happy ending. And who am I trying to fool? It’s mostly smut.
Thank you so much for the ask ❤️
It's nice to remember that there are people actually reading my silly ideas 😅

Our staff
Thanks to the efforts of Mitch O’Connell, Nick Garcia, and Hunter Cassaro, this blog is able to run smoothly. More detailed bios here!
About Mitch (she/her)
Hiya, I’m Madeleine O’Connell, but everybody calls me Mitch or Maddie, mostly Mitch. I’m a member of the Young Fruit Farmers Initiative working under the Demeter Team, and you could say I’ve got a green thumb. In my free time, I *adore* acting. Come see me in Twelfth Night!
About Nick (he/him)
Hey there. My name’s Nick. And no, I’m not a member of the YFFI, nor do I know much about Greek mythology. That’s a creepily frequent question… Eh, whatever. I’m a social media intern here, and a competitive swimmer when I’m off-duty.
About Hunter (he/him)
Yeah, screw this. I don’t want to be here.
Uh, pardon Hunter. He’s got trust issues, but he’s with YFFI, working under the Ares team. Up until recently he worked for… a rival company, that’s why he’s always angry.
